Nenad Bacina was in high spirits after his team came from behind thrice in a six-goal thriller against Selangor
Selangor and Tampines Rovers met in the second round of the 2013 AFC Cup and after six goals, both sides had to share the spoils in 3-3 thriller at the Shah Alam Stadium.
Forkey Doe scored a brace while Amri Yahyah netted the third for the home team.
The S.League champions showed their tenacity as they kept coming from behind against a sturdy Selangor side with goals from Aleksander Duric, Imran Sahib and Kunihiro Yamashita.
Nenad Bacina lauded his players’ doggedness on unfamiliar ground and was happy to steal one point from Irfan Bakti’s Red Giants.
He said: “Credit should be given to my players every time we were behind.
“Although it was Selangor who scored first, Tampines created chances earlier through Jalil but we were unlucky not to find the net.”
The Croatian also gave credit to the home team for putting up a splendid performance while also reiterating his objective in Shah Alam.
“We were not coming here to lose and that was exactly what we did,” Bacina added.
The Stags’ next fixture in the AFC Cup will be a home game against East Bengal FC on April 3.
