With domestic football set for a two-week break due to international matches and the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, Singapore clubs are using the opportunity to travel across the Causeway to take on their Malaysian counterparts in a series of friendly matches.
While the Malaysian domestic league is already underway since the start of January, S.League clubs are still in pre-season mode with the competition scheduled to start after the international break.
Tanjong Pagar United and Geylang International will each have week-long stays up north, while Hougang United will only be playing a single match in Johor Bahru.
The Cheetahs are set to take on star-studded Johor Darul Takzim FC at the Tan Sri Dato Hj Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin on January 28 (Monday), with the match scheduled to kick off at 8pm.
Fans travelling up to Larkin can purchase their tickets on matchday, which will be priced at RM10 (Grandstand) and RM5 (open) at the stadium's ticketing counter.
The Eagles have also booked a date with the Fandi Ahmad-led Darul Takzim on February 3 before they travel to take on 2012 Malaysian Cup runners-up ATM FA two days later. Geylang then end their pre-season tour with a trip to the Shah Alam Stadium to face Selangor FA on February 7.
A new-look Jaguars side led by former Etoile coach Patrick Vallee will head straight to Kuala Lumpur for a four-day training tour from January 28 to January 31.
They are scheduled to play against non-league side Maybank FC on January 28 before taking on Malaysian Super League club Selangor PKNS a day before their departure.
