Harimau Muda A look set to remain in the S.League for the new campaign in 2013, despite earlier speculation that Ong Kim Swee’s boys might either be returning to the Slovakian league or accept an invitation to play in Brazil.
In a report by Malaysia’s Bernama, FAM’s secretary-general Datuk Azzuddin Ahmad denied speculation that Harimau might play in a different league overseas, saying that it was merely rumours at this stage and added that FAM have not made any decision on it.
Datuk Azzuddin, however, said that the situation might change given that Ong needed to prepare the squad for 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar.
“We are considering sending them for a training stint in Europe as part of their preparation for the SEA Games next year," he said, after Malaysia's League 2013-2016 Seminar.
Harimau Muda is currently in fourth place in the S.League with two games remaining. They will play Hougang United on Monday night before they take on league leaders Tampines Rovers on November 2.
