In their latest initiative, the S.League, together with RHB Bank and the People’s Association, conducted a 2-hour football clinic, open to kids aged between 9 to 11 years old, on Sunday, September 30.
The kids were coached by 10 S.League stars from Singapore Armed Forces FC and Hougang United FC.
The event was graced by three Guests-of-Honour,namely Football Association of Singapore President Mr Zainudin Nordin, CEO S.League Mr Lim Chin and RHB Bank Country Head, Mr Jason Wong.
Participants were treated to a star studded line-up of coaches, with 2011 S.League Player of the Year and Golden Boot winner, Mislav Karoglan, and former national players, Fazrul Nawaz and Noh Rahman from SAFFC The trio were joined by team-mates Daniel Bennett, Aliff Shafaein and Shimpei Sakurada.
Hougang United were also involved, as they sent four players, namely Syaqir Sulaiman, Jordan Webb, Mamadou Diallo and Ante Barac to impart their knowledge and talents to young aspiring football players.
Avid local football supporter Stanley Wong was delighted that his son, Bryan Wong, 10, was given the opportunity to be part of the football clinic and experience coaching first-hand from the S.League stars.
“It is very good because the kids have to undergo different stations, and each station has its own different techniques. Kids also get to know more S-league stars and thus [this will help] promote the S-League at the grassroots levels.”
