Faris on his stint with Barcelona: "This Nike 'The Chance' Global Finals is very important to me because I will be competing against boys from around the world. In terms of exposure and experience that I can gain out of this, it is crucial that I do my very best. A definite morale booster for my future in football. Initially, I had my eyes set on making it through the Regional Finals and now that it has come true, I will cherish and try to do Singapore proud in Barcelona
"I'm leaving on Wednesday night(15 Aug) which means I will miss Hari Raya celebrations with my family. It will be a pity not being able to be with my family on this festive occassion but this makes me even more determined to make the most of my chances there and hopefully make my family very very proud.
"I just got back from injury and have been focusing on strengthening my ankles. My preparation has been very intense as I want to be at my best against the rest of the finalists in Barcelona.
"The actual itinerary of the whole trip has not been told to us. I think Nike wants to create a nice surprise! Whatever it is, whether it is training at the famous Barcelona academy grounds or getting a chance to tour the Nou Camp, being in Barcelona is already a dream come true. The rest that comes along the way are just big big bonuses!
"The SEA boys have been in close contact since the Regional Finals. We have been chatting and discussing about the Global Finals online and we have a very strong bond. Especially Rahmat from Malaysia. I went for the Arsenal training experience in KL and Rahmat was my room-mate. We chatted alot and I can't wait to hang out with the SEA boys again. Hopefully, we can do SEA proud.

"My expectations is all about myself. I'm grateful to Nike for giving me this wonderful opportunity in 'The Chance' and  want to do Singapore proud. To showcase what I'm all about as a footballer and give everything I have!"
