Lion City Cup to reach 114 countries

The 24th edition of the competion will be viewed by millions across the world after broadcast rights were snapped up by 114 countries
The 24th Canon Lion City Cup, set to kick off on the 23rd of June 2012, will see an unprecedented number of local and foreign broadcasters, sparking a global reach in the millions.

The Red Card Ptd Ltd, organizers of the Canon Lion City Cup, is pleased to release the names of television broadcasters from Singapore, France, Brazil, Greece and Italy. The list includes Singapore’s MediaCorp Television Singapore Pte Ltd and Starhub Limited.

France’s Eurosport has a global reach of 11 million viewers and has seen a 12 % rise in television viewership since the start of 2012. Their global audience includes countries in Europe like Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Russia, Denmark, France, Germany, Spain, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland.

Eurosport’s reach also extends to countries in the Asia-Pacific and the Oceania regions like Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and Korea.

Adding to the tournament’s global presence, the other European and South American broadcasters include Brazil’s Band Sport Channel, Greece’s Sport TV/ Action 24 and Sport Italia in Italy will beam live telecasts of the Canon Lion City Cup matches catapulting Singapore’s premier youth football tournament in the world scene.
