FAS have confirmed that the four changes Terengganu FA made were within the rules and as such no penalties will be imposed
However in a reply to Goal Singapore, Football Association of Singapore (FAS), confirmed that no rules were breached.
Mohd Nor Farhan Muhammad had been listed in the starting line-up that was signed off by both team managers and the match commissioner. But five minutes before kick-off Ahmad Nordin Alias was named in Farhan's place instead.
While this was not against the rules, the change in players would have constituted as a substitution, allowing Terengganu to only make two changes in the course of the game. The Turtles then made three further substititions with Mario Karlovic coming on for Nor Hakim Hassan towards the end of the match being the last.
According to axrosstheline.com, LionsXII team manager Visakan Subramanian had filed a report with Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) over the matter.
FAS confirmed with Goal that a formal enquiry was made but the changes made by Terengganu were within the rules.
"FAS understands that a change was made to the Terengganu starting line-up before the match, and Terengganu FA went on to make three substitutions during the match," said an FAS spokesperson. "To clarify if this was allowed, FAS submitted an enquiry to FAM. We were informed by FAM today that this was within the rules in place. As such, we will not pursue this matter any further."
LionsXII take on Johor Darul Takzim on Tuesday night at the Jalan Besar Stadium. The Singapore side are now 13 points behind leaders Selangor FA although they have a game in hand.
