thumbnail Hello,

The LionsXII haven't been winning for a while now, much to the dismay of fans as well as the boys, who had high hopes for the team. Will their patience run out this week?

I have to admit, it's tough trying to predict the LionsXII's results this season. Amongst many other reasons, the inconsistent performances have made it a start-stop season for the boys, and it looks set to continue agaisnt PKNS this weekend as well. Which LionsXII team will turn up? It could be yet another error-strewn performance, or one with sheer determination and spirit, or maybe even a little bit of both! But the game definitely looks winnable, on paper at least. It was defensive lapses (which could have been prevented) that cost the team all three points for the last couple of matches. If they can cut out such mistakes at the back, there is no reason why the team cannot come away with a point, or all three, should they be able to find the net that is.
Prediction: 1-0. Heart over head here as I predict a scrappy win for the LionsXII to finally return to winning ways. Please?

PKNS won't be easy opposition, as I mentioned in my preview, with the likes of Patrick 'Ronaldinho' Wleh and Karlo Primorac. They sit fourth, perhaps a little surprisingly, and will come to Jalan Besar with confidence, especially in the light of the LionsXII's recent struggles. Fandi's men have not wholly convinced so far, with good performances in patches rather than whole matches. Determination and spirit can only go so far and they've been exposed by quality sides. That said, the boys will be fired up to prove a point at home and if Fandi plays his cards right, I think the crowd will go home happy after this game.
Prediction: 2-0. I think it's time to get back into the business of winning for the LionsXII.

Two defeats on the trot was something that I didn't think LionsXII would find themselves in, but that's how things stand right now. There's no better time to stop the rot than now. Lions are just four places above the bottom, which is deceiving because they are only a point off the bottom side. But that's not unbelievable taking into account they've won just once in the last five games. PKNS are flying high at fourth though they have won just once in the last four games. This won't be easy, but it's not beyond reach for a win for the LionsXII. The same things I asked of them in the last match applies - keep things tight at the back and make the chances count. While Fandi has spent time tinkering with his offensive line to get the goals, he seems to have overlooked the importance of stability at the back. This game would be a far cry from last year's encounter when the home side ran out clear 3-1 winners.
Prediction: 2-1. Again, I'm putting faith in Fandi for not making it three defeats in a row
