LionsXII kits for 2014 unveiled

The three different jerseys - home, away and third - were revealed at the pre-season press conference of the reigning Malaysian Super League champions at Jalan Besar Stadium
The LionsXII today unveiled their new kits for the 2014 Malaysian Super League (MSL) season, as they gear up to defend their title.

At the pre-season press conference held at the Jalan Besar Stadium at noon, captain Isa Halim donned the home strip while defender Safuwan Baharudin and winger Gabriel Quak wore the away and third jerseys respectively.

The newly revamped home jersey features a primarily red design with white blocks running down the sides and sleeves. The away shirt features a sky blue coloured top that fades to white mid-torso, and matching white shorts, while the new third kit is an all-black design with red trimmings on the sleeves and shorts.

Striker Sufian Anuar and midfielder Samuel Benjamin each wore a different colored version of a LionsXII casual t-shirt targetted at fans, together with a cap emblazoned with the team's logo.

Goal Singapore's post on Facebook of the three new jerseys drew immediate response, with user "El Kun" noting that the red and white home strip looked like the jersey of Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam.

The designs also generated discussion on Twitter, with user @zeecrnls commenting that the sleek, black third strip was "nice" and resembled Malaysia Super League side Kelantan FA's 2013 jersey. Meanwhile, @KennerveT pointed out that the away strip resembled that of the Courts Young Lions' one from last season.

More comments from the LionsXII Facebook page:
Putra Zuhaily - "Awesome lah, the blue kit"
Lim Liang Yi - "Blue kit is from the left over from the Young Lions' kit room"
TazzmanIan Devill - "Reminds me of Arsenal & Ajax"
