The Kelantan midfielder shares his joy after finally snatching the best midfielder award form national skipper Safiq Rahim, and being announced as the most valuable player
Badhri Radzi, locally known as Piya, has spoken exclusively to Goal Malaysia after he received a double award at the Football Association of Malaysia 2013 awards ceremony; Best Midfield Player and Most Valuable Player for the last season.
“I only expected one, but its good to be announced as the best player for the last season,” Piya said.
Radzi helped Kelantan to retain the FA Cup last season and played a vitally important role in the squad. His name was frequently on pundits and spectators lips thanks to his wide array of through passes and some wonderful goals.
“I would like to thank everyone who helped me to hold this award, especially my teammates, Kelantan officials and the fans that always back me up whatever happens. Thank you guys.”
When asked for his comment on the MVP award which he snatched from three-time winner Norshahrul Idlan Talaha, he simply said that it is his luck to win it this year.
“It might be my luck to win both of these when I didn’t win any last year. And it is great to hold on to this.
“I’ll strive harder next year to gain something more, and this award surely gives me a boost to be better,” he concluded.
