WHAT THE NEWS ARE SAYING

KELANTAN

Local newspapers are reporting that the Red Warriors are keen on signing Selangor forward Afiq Azmi to complete their 2014 squad. The 24 year old joined the Red Giants at the start of the 2013 season, but failed to start regularly in the season. However KAFA CEO, Kevin Ramalingam denied this interest when asked by Sinar Harian, citing that they prefer to promote someone from their own President's Cup squad instead. Prior to joining Selangor, Afiq had joined Kelantan as a loan player from Kuala Lumpur, during their successful 2012 Malaysia Cup campaign.

SABAH

The Rhinos are reported to be committed to ensuring the return of Harimau Muda's Rozaimi Rahman, after the 2013 SEA Games, reported Kosmo!. The Sabah FA are desperate to turn around their fortunes when they compete in the 2014 Premier League, bringing in a number of new faces to Kota Kinabalu and now pushing for the highly-sought after striker's early return from Harimau Muda. Rozaimi joined Harimau Muda from Sabah at the end of 2012, following a successful Malaysian Games campaign with the Sabah state team and a Malaysian Cup loan spell with Selangor. When contacted by the daily, Rozaimi confirmed the news, but responded that he will decide on his future after the SEA Games in Myanmar.

CONFIRMED

SIME DARBY FC

Recently-promoted Super League side Sime Darby FC confirmed to Sinar Harian on Wednesday that they have finalised their foreign player signings. Head coach Ismail Zakaria told the daily that the players are Ghanians Wisdom Agblexo and William Nil Ayi Mensah; Dilshod Sharafutdinov from Uzbekistan, and Mehmood Al Amina from Syria. Oddly enough, it was also reported in the same article that Ismail is already seeking to replace Mehmood during the mid-season transfer window in April, or if the current transfer window is extended by the Malaysian FA.
