FAM want Khairy Jamaluddin to call a meeting between them so problems can be solved amicably rather than talking about them through newspapers.
The President of the Players' Status Committee in the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has urged Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin to stop criticizing the association publicly.
According to Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan, Khairy must take a more peaceful approach in handling issues to avoid any negative perceptions that can make matters worse.
Speaking to Utusan, Takiyuddin said: "I suggest that the ministry and the association sit in a meeting because the ministry has the power to do that.
"The minister can call for a meeting and I am sure the FAM EXCO will come and give him the chance to explain what the problems are."
Takiyuddin also added that the FAM will consider every comment but only those which come from the right channel.
"I think the FAM will take a look at every comment but it can be easily misinterpreted when it is in the newspaper," he added.
"It will be great if we can face each other, as both parties want the best for our football."
The FAM-Khairy spat is nothing new to the footballing scene, as the Youth and Sports Minister has been very vocal about the association ever since he took the job.
