Pahang striker Azamuddin Akil was in a jubilant mood after winning his first trophy with the Elephants.
Azamuddin Akil was lost for words after helping Pahang win this year’s Malaysia Cup by defeating defending champions Kelantan.
According to him, he did not expect that his first appearance in the final would give Pahang the luck they needed to win the trophy.
Speaking after the game, Alex said: "It was like a dream come true because the night before the game, I did not really get any sleep as I was worrying about the game, and now I am really happy that we have won it.
"I really don’t know what to say but after eight years with Pahang, this is the sweetest victory I have ever achieved."
Alex also did not forget the contributions of the vocal and loyal Pahang fans who were standing behind the players from the first game of the season.
"This is the best gift to Pahang and I want to dedicate this win to all our supporters out there who never stopped supporting us during our ups and downs," he added.
Regarding his contract with Pahang, Alex pointed out that he hasn't made a decision to stay with Pahang or leave.
He said: "My contract ends this November and there are still no talks between me and Pahang regarding next season.
"I have received a lot of offers but I have to carefully think through and furthermore, I still feel that I want to play for Pahang and contribute more to my state."
Alex was voted Man of the Match for the final against Kelantan where he helped Conti to score the header which was eventually the only goal of the game.
