Dollah Salleh praised the substitutes that came on and changed the game for Pahang, as they enter the Malaysia Cup final for the first time in 16 years.
Pahang head coach, Dollah Salleh, was grateful that his team made it to the 2013 Malaysia Cup final, but he also believed that his team were lucky as the home team Sarawak missed a lot of good chances.
Dollah, who already expected that Kelantan will make it into the final, was surprised with Sarawak’s game play on the night where the home team needed to overturn the two-goal deficit.
He said: "I was surprised with how Sarawak played their game because they wasted a lot of goal-scoring chances."
The Crocs dominated the game and controlled possession for most of the 90 minutes and they were able to breakthrough when Bobby Gonzales scored from Joseph Kalang Tie’s cross.
However subtitute Fauzi Roslan scored as soon as he came on in the second half to seal Pahang’s berth in the final.
"The introduction of the three substitutes helped us a lot in balancing the game for our side," Dollah added.
Pahang are set to face east coast rivals and defending champions Kelantan in the 2013 Malaysia Cup final on November 3at the Shah Alam Stadium, as they finally reached the final for the first time in 16 years.
