The Darul Takzim coach was disappointed with the result and blamed their weak defence for a poor performance which saw them concede 6 goals.
Azmi Mohamed was clearly disappointed with the performance shown by his players after failing to retain their 4-2 lead over Kelantan and conceded six goals in the process.
Despite leading comfortably in the first leg, the Southern Tigers looked helpless in Kota Bharu as a series of errors had cost them a semi-final clash with ATM.
Azmi said, “Our defence were really poor. Kelantan players put pressure on them throughout the game and they couldn’t control their emotions, which led us to concede six goals in the game.”
JDT’s performance was quite a surprise for all to see and after much hype earlier in the season, they have finished the 2013 season trophy-less.
However, the President of Johor Football Association, Tunku Ismail Idris has promised Darul Takzim will at least win a trophy next year, or he himself will resign from his current post.
JDT can now prepare for next season’s Malaysia Super League, with big name signings such as Pablo Aimar expected to change the game of fooball not just in Johor, but in Malaysia as a whole.
