Kelantan's hat-trick hero Dickson Nwakaeme received praise from his coach Bojan Hodak after his scintillating performance against Pahang
Kelantan’s import striker Dickson Nwakaeme deserves credit for his heroic role in the Red Warriors' 4-0 thrashing of Pahang in their last 2013 Malaysia Cup Group C match, according to Bojan Hodak.
The Kelantan head coach stated that despite struggling with injury, the striker put aside his problems and proved that he can be a deadly finisher in the game.
According to Sinar Harian, Bojan said: "The introduction of Nwakaeme in the second half changed the game.
"He proved that he is a true striker and it’s hard to see any import player that good.
"We are lucky to have him.
"Before this, the injury has limited his contribution to the team, but tonight he played for 45 minutes and he gave us a positive result.
"Hopefully we can use his full services during the quarterfinal."
In the Pahang game, Dickson scored a tremendous hat-trick, his first ever with Kelantan, after Indra Putra Mahayuddin opened the scoring in the first half.
The win put Kelantan above Pahang in the group and has set them in a mouth-watering clash against previous tournament favourites Johor Darul Takzim, who finished second in Group B.
Commenting on the clash against JDT, Hodak highlighted that his players are ready to defeat the Southern Tigers as he believes that Kelantan have improved a lot in the past couple of months.
