Azmi Mohammad has admitted that a tough task awaits his team when they face defending champions Kelantan in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Malaysia Cup starting this weekend.
Azmi said that his team had only one week to practice and improve on their weaknesses, especially their defence, which has been disappointing so far in the tournament.
According to Sinar Harian, Azmi said: "In this one week period, we hope to fix our problems, especially the understanding in defence.
"Other than that, we also need to make sure our fitness is at the top level before the game."
JDT were considered to be lucky to go through to the next round on goal difference after their final game in the group saw them lose 2-0 to group winners PKNS on their own home turf.
Commenting further on the match, Azmi said that luck was not on their side despite enjoying so much of possession throughout the game.
He also praised PKNS goalkeeper Remezey Che Ros for playing excellently in the game.
JDT will face Kelantan in the quarterfinal of Malaysia Cup, which is a repeat of last June's FA Cup final where the Red Warriors edged out the Southern Tigers to lift the trophy.
