ATM Boss, B. Sathianathan, foresees a tough game when they meet the LionsXII in the 2013 Malaysia Cup final next week
The Gladiators sealed a place in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Malaysia Cup following their draw against Sime Darby on Saturday.
Head coach, B. Sathianathan exclusively spoke to Goal and sees the LionsXII as their hardest challenge in making it to the final for two consecutive years.
“LionsXII are very good team," he said.
“We were beaten twice by them, home and away, and surely they won’t make it easy for us this time.”
Ahead of the quarterfinals against the Malaysian Super League champions, Sathia is gunning for nothing less than a final berth.
“It will be a tough match playing [at the Jalan Besar Stadium] but if we can just hold them for a draw there, it will be great for us,” he added.
The former national coach, has had an excellent career both domestically and internationally. He won the 2010 Malaysia Cup with Kelantan and also successfully brought ATM to the final last year.
“I’ll do everything to regain my players' fitness as we are going to face the team that is really tough to beat in their home ground and hopefully I can get some positive results there,” Sathia concluded.
