The Malaysia national team received praises from Head Coach Datuk K.Rajagopal despite losing to the Spanish La Liga championc FC Barcelona at Shah Alam stadium in a friendly match last Saturday.
According to Rajagopal, the team had shown an improved game and had learnt from the mistakes made in earlier friendly fixtures, especially during their tour in Japan.
Speaking to the reporters after the game, Rajagopal said: "[Our improved performance] can be seen from the amazing goal by Amri Yahyah."
For the 32-year-old striker, having the chance to play against Barcelona was just as exciting as scoring in the 40th minute to equalise for the Malayan Tigers.
"I am so happy that I managed to pull one goal back for the team.
"I am proud with our commitment and how serious we were in the game," said the veteran striker.
Malaysia lost to Barcelona 3-1 despite showing a gutsy performance and a stubborn defending.
The three goals for Barcelona were scored by Fabregas, Neymar and Pique.
