LionsXII's Baihakki Khaizan is being linked with a move over the causeway to join Johor Darul Takzim next season. The experienced central defender has been a revelation in his two season with the Singapore-based outfit so far and could be set to join the Southern Tigers' revolution.
Johor Darul Takzim's defensive issues have been well-documented, with them not looking too solid at the back. It is no secret that they will be hunting for a top class defender, and Baikhakki is apparently on top of their shopping list.
The Singapore international, who has been capped 97 times, was part of the LionsXII defence that only conceded 15 goals in the recently concluded season. While the form of fellow defender Safuwan Baharuddin was key, Baihakki's no-nonsense performances were also a massive part of it.
The 29 year-old defender also starred in his nation's triumphant run in the AFF Suzuki Cup last year, after which he was linked with a move to the Thai League alongside Shahril Ishak. However, nothing materialized and Baihakki decided to stay put with LionsXII.
Now it seems that Johor are pursuing him as their primary target in order to boost a defence that conceded 26 goals in the Super League this year.
Nevertheless, Baihakki Khaizan will still have plenty of time to ponder the offer as he prepares with LionsXII for the upcoming Malaysia Cup campaign.
