Datuk K. Rajagopal believes that the match against Chonburi FC will boost his team's confidence ahead of the Chelsea game
National coach Datuk K. Rajagopal believes that the match against Chonburi FC this Tuesday will be good preparation for the national team before facing English Premier League club Chelsea this weekend.
With the Thai club comprising of a few Thailand national players, the match will provide his team with a test, and hopefully some confidence before facing the Europa League champions on Sunday.
Speaking to Bernama, Rajagopal enthused, “Apart as a warm-up, the match would also toughen the players as Chonburi FC is considered as a strong team, especially with a number of their players also in the national squad.”
Commenting on the national squad training, which is currently on-going during fasting month, Rajagopal said that all the players are professionals and it would not be a problem for them.
Malaysia will face a series of friendly matches starting this Tuesday, including a trip to Japan before facing two Europian Giants, Chelsea and Barcelona, in part of their preparation for the important match against Bahrain in October, a crucial Asian Cup qualification match.
