The Kuala Terengganu-based side are gearing up for what will be a decisive derby as far as their survival hopes in the Malaysian Super League are concernedT-Team have had a pretty shaky time in the Malaysian Super League (MSL) this year, but all the struggles and hard work will come up to nothing if they suffer a defeat in the final match of the season against Terengganu this weekend.
The Titans need at least a point from the fixture to ensure survival in the MSL, but Terengganu pose more than just a threat. The Turtles do have the capabilities of performing when least expected although the Titans are cautiously optimistic ahead of this game.
"On a good day, we can beat any team in the league," T-Team's Caretaker Coach Eduardo Almeida told the New Straits Times.
"But for now, we have to forget the defeat against Selangor and focus for the final game against Terengganu.
"Good news is that we have all players available and most of them are familiar with the way our opponents this weekend play."
They will be competing for survival against Felda United, who are two points behind T-Team as of now, but will be facing an easier ride against already relegated Negeri Sembilan this weekend.
Also, if T-Team do secure a favourable result on Saturday, they will be avoiding the playoffs for the Malaysia Cup, which is scheduled to be played next week.
"A draw or better against Terengganu will keep us in the Super League and that will also be good enough for us to avoid the Malaysia Cup playoffs as well," T-Team Chief Executive Officer Abdul Rashid Jusoh said.
"At least, our destiny is still in our own hands, although we will have to constantly look over our shoulders to make sure Felda are a safe distance away from us on the last day of the league."
