Datuk S. Sivasundram insisted that the FAM are not to be blamed following the incident where many JDT's fans lost money due to buying from third party ticketing agents
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have insisted that they should not be blamed in the incident where several fans failed to get their tickets during the recent FA Cup final between Kelantan and Johor Darul Takzim (JDT).
According to Utusan Malaysia, Datuk S. Sivasundram said FAM never created a third party in the ticketing process, and the ones who were fully in charge of the tickets were the relevant FA’s and the FAM only.
"For example, for the FA Cup final the other day, FAM gave 30,000 to Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) and another 30,000 to Johor Football Association (JFA).
"So by right, the fans should get their tickets from their own FA's.
"The FAM even opened eight counters at the stadium on matchday and I myself went down and facilitated the process," Sivasundram said.
He was asked to comment on the issues where JDT fans lost RM162,600 after they were cheated by the third party agents, who claimed that they provided more than 3,000 tickets for the FA Cup final.
"My advice is please buy the tickets on your own and buy it from the approved counter to avoid any unwanted incidents.
"FAM cannot be blamed if there is any individuals who were cheated and the incidents should be reported to the authorities," he added.
