Head coach of Felda United, K. Devan, hoped that his side’s dominant win against Perak will boost his players’ spirit and confidence to face the remainder of the games in the league.
The Settlers beat Perak 3-1 at MBPJ Stadium and Devan believed that this win is an indicator for his players to believe that they are actually better than their position in the standings.
Felda United are currently third from bottom in the league, but they have one of the best defensive records in the league.
Their main problem prior to the game against Perak was the failure to score goals.
Speaking to Sports247.my, Devan said: "They will believe in themselves after this win.
"This is also our first home win and it is a valuable one to boost the confidence of everyone.
"Even the last couple of games we played well but we did not win.
"The tactical changes we made worked out."
Devan fielded Razali Umar as a lone striker with their new import, Leonel St. Preux and Emmanuel Mazowa operating from the midfield.
The win had moved Felda United three points closer to champions Kelantan, and gave them breathing space from the relegation zone.
