Former head coach of Portuguese team Atletico SC, Eduardo Almeida, was spotted in Terengganu for the T-Team vs Pahang clash, but denied any rumours linking him with the Titans' jobThe sighting of former Atletico Sport Clube Reguengos (Atletico SC) boss Eduardo Almeida at the T-Team vs Pahang game has certainly raised many eyebrows within Malaysian football.
It has been suggested that the coach, who trained Ahmad Fakri Saarani when the player had a short playing stint in Portugal, may be brought in to help T-Team, who are currently second from bottom in the Malaysian Super League.
However, Eduardo quickly dismissed any speculation by stating that his presence at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium was just to watch the match and to follow the development of football.
Speaking to Bernama, he said: "I am here to watch the match, nothing more.
"I am looking at jointly working out an understanding to develop football between Malaysia and Portugal.
"I have seen Terengganu play in the AFC Cup competition in Hong Kong and [I] must admit there's a number of good players in Terengganu.
"As such, we can work together to improve the quality of football in the state."
Almeida also insisted that he was not aware of rumours that he may replace current T-Team coach Peter Butler.
T-Team have only collected nine points from 11 games and sit just four points above Negeri Sembilan who are currently bottom of the table.
