Despite being hit with injuries problems, Malaysia are still optimistic on their chances to pick up points in their first game against Qatar in the 2015 Asia Cup Qualification.

Team manager Datuk Subahan Kamal said that the injuries to some of the key players before the training camp is not a big problem and would not weaken the team.

Speaking to Bernama, he said "We will look back whether to replace the injured players with new players and I will discuss this in more details with coach Datuk K.Rajagopal later."

The likes of Wan Zack Haikal, Amri Yahya and Mohd Amirul Hadi are likely to be called in to replace K.Gurusamy, Mohd Bunyamin Omar, Mohd Nor Farhan Muhammad and Mohd Safee Sali.

He also added that for their first game against Qatar a draw would be a great result. Subahan has faith in K.Rajagobal to find a way to at least snatch a point against Qatar on February 6th.

Subahan also stressed that the team will take their friendly game against Iraq seriously and go for a win.
