Datuk K. Rajagopal has called up two extra players in Shukor Jusoh and Fitri Omar as he attempts to bring the best team to the Middle East, where they will face Iraq in a friendly matches before taking on Qatar in the Asian Cup qualifying match.
FAM initially released the 26 men squad last week, with the likes of Norfarhan Mohammad, Yong Kuong Yong all being called up by Daruk K. Rajagopal. Safiq Rahim was left out though, as he is suspended for one match after his red card during the AFF Suzuki Cup last year.
However, King Raja has decided to add two other names to the side in the form of Selangor midfielder Shukor Jusoh and ATM defender Fitri Omar.
Both men have been pretty impressive for their respective teams in the Malaysian Super League this season, with Shukor taking over Safiq Rahim's role as the pinnacle in their midfield. Fitri Omar too, has been relatively solid for B. Sathianathan''s side, and this call up is nothing short of a deserved one.
All 28 men are expected to report themselves to King Raja on the 26th of January and the selection and training sessions will be held for two days. The Malayan Tigers will then jet out to the Middle East to face Iraq on the 31st of January in Dubai, before taking on Qatar on the 6th of February in Doha.
