It will be a battle of two Johor sides in the final of a pre-season quadrangular organized by the Football Association of Johor, after Malaysian Premier League side Johor saw off the challenge of Super League side Pahang FA.

Played on Thursday night at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunus Stadium at Larkin, Johor recorded a 3-0 victory over their more illustrious opponents to set up a meeting with big brother Johor Darul Takzim on Friday.

Striker Rashid Aya grabbed a brace as he opened the scoring near the half hour mark, before notching his second of the night eight minutes after the restart. Argentinian forward Juan Muriel Orlando then added a third in the 66th minute to ensure victory for coach Azmi Mohamed's side.

The Tok Gajah ended the game with ten men after vice-captain Azamuddin Akil was given his marching orders in the closing stages of the match.

Pahang, coached by former Malaysian internationals Dollah Salleh, with Zainal Abidin Hassan as their assistant manager, will now face Singapore side Woodlands Wellington in the third/fourth-placing match on Friday.

The match will be played at Padang Sri Gelam, Johor Bahru and will kick off at 4.45pm and admission is free.

Meanwhile, the final will be played at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunus Stadium at 8.30 pm. Tickets for the final are at RM5 each and will be available on matchday.
