"Wrath of the Titans" - T-Team ready to turn on the style in 2013

The Kuala Terengganu based club side have beefed up their squad with the likes of George Boateng and Caleb Folan, and are looking to win their first trophy next year
T-Team might have been underdogs all these while but they are preparing to turn on the style when the upcoming season of the Malaysian Super League season kicks off next month.

The Titans revamped their squad during the off-season, signing plenty of youth talents while also drafting experienced names to balance the  team.

Former Hull City duo, George Boateng and Caleb Folan have also been signed up to fill the foreign player quota while Peter Butler has been given the task of coaching them. Now, T-Team's chief executive officer Abdul Rashid Jusoh believes that they are equipped enough to make an impact next year.

"Since winning promotion to the Super League three years ago, we have been on the radar of bigger teams but that is about to change," he told the New Straits Times.

"We are no longer an obscure club who were expected to just get by in the league as we are now the Titans, under new management, new coach and mostly new players.

"Most of our new signings such as Syamim (Yahya) from Johor and Fauzan (Abdullah) from Kuala Lumpur are young, eager but able players who are willing to go all out to help the team achieve success.

"But we do have experienced players too as former Terengganu defenders Marzuki Yusof and Mazlizam Mohamad are now with us together with new foreign signings (George) Boateng and (Caleb) Folan," he added.

T-Team are currently our a pre-season tour of Myanmar, and have played two friendly matches over there so far, winning one while losing the other. Peter Butler's men were initially edged 0-1 by Magwe FC last Thursday, before bouncing back to beat Yangoon FC 3-1 two days later, with Fauzan Abdullah scoring a hat-rick.

"Folan had three assists in all the three goals and coach Butler seemed happy enough with the progress shown the boys after losing to another Yangon side, Magwe FC, by a solitary goal two days earlier.

"We played two friendlies in Kuala Lumpur prior to leaving for Myanmar, winning 1-0 over Armed Forces before losing 2-1 to SPA (Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam) but what is good is that our players seem to be getting better by the day," he said.

T-Team are scheduled to kick start their Super League campaign against Perak on the 8th of January and Rashid went on to promise that the Titans will do everything to be ready in time for the cruncher.
