FAM: Rajagopal is still the head coach

The Football Association of Malaysia wants any speculation regarding the national head coach's job to stop immediately
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) wants everyone to stop any speculation regarding the futures of Datuk K.Rajagopal and Ong Kim Swee.

The Secretary General of FAM, Datuk Azzudin, also denied any suggestions of current Harimau Muda A coach, Ong Kim Swee, taking over from Rajagopal.

Despite the team's failure in AFF Suzuki Cup 2012, the FAM is still sticking with Datuk K.Rajagopal as Harimau Malaya's head coach.

Speaking to KOSMO!, Azzudin said that fans have to accept the fact that Rajagopal had done his best for Malaysia team. He also said that the nation should not easily forget the success that Rajagopal has achieved, namely winning the gold medal at the Laos SEA Games in 2009 and becoming the AFF SUZUKI CUP Champions for the first time in 2010.

Datuk Azzuddin stressed that Kim Swee is a great coach who is currently doing a fine job finding the new talents in Malaysia, therefore the FAM would not interrupt him in his work.

Datuk Azzudin commented, "Stop all the speculation. Both Rajagopal and Kim Swee are working under one roof and we should respect them."

Ong Kim Swee recently also said that it is not the right time yet for him to take the Malaysian job as he is fully focused on retaining gold medal in the SEA Games next year.
