thumbnail Hello,

Given the high demand for tickets the PA has teamed up with the official broadcasters to bring the LIVE match experience to a wider audience

In a combined effort to foster community spirit, StarHub and the People’s Association (PA) have announced a partnership to hold “LIVE” community screenings of four LionsXII Malaysia Super League matches at 11 Community Clubs (CCs) islandwide from April 14 to May 22, 2012.

Kicking off with the away match played at PKNS FC, the screenings are aimed at bringing people from all walks of life together through their common passion for LionsXII. With match tickets regularly selling out at the Jalan Besar Stadium, the community screenings will provide an additional avenue for fans to rally together and show their support for the team.

“Sports has a wonderful way of bringing people together,"shared Chief Executive Director of the People’s Association, Mr Yam Ah Mee.

"When we screened popular sports events for the community, we saw residents of different ages, races and estates come together, interact and make new friends.

"We are happy to be working with StarHub on the LionsXII community screenings at 11 CCs as this will be another great opportunity for us to strengthen community bonds and build stronger social capital.”

Ms Iris Wee, Vice President of Home Solutions & Content, StarHub also added: "As the Official Broadcaster and Principal Sponsor of LionsXII, we want to give football fans in Singapore as many opportunities as possible to catch the team in action. Football unites people and we hope that participants will form lasting bonds while cheering our team at the community screenings."

To add to the atmosphere, attendees can expect fringe activities such as “Best Dressed LionsXII Supporter” and “Guess the Goals” contests and booths showcasing interest groups that residents can be part of.
