Former Lazio player Simone Del Nero is the latest big name to sign for Johor in the Malaysian Super League (MSL).
Del Nero was revealed at a press conference at Hotel Thistle, Johor Bahru on Friday afternoon.
Speaking to Goal.com Singapore at the event, the Italian said: "I am happy to be here. I had other offers from Romania and top Italian clubs but i chose to come here as I have been told of the big plans by the Crown Prince [of Johor]."
"I look forward to playing alongside [Dani] Guiza next season. I believe that my experiences in Europe will be good for the club. I am really moved by the Crown Prince's sincerity."
The newly restructured Johor FA and Johor FC are now under one management overseen by the Crown Prince of Johor, Tunku Ismail Idris.
Singapore football legend Fandi Ahmad will be the head coach for the MSL side next season.
Del Nero is the second big-name signing for the Southern-Malaysian side, after the capture of former Spain international Dani Guiza.
31-year-old Del Nero won the Coppa Italia in 2008 with Lazio. He was on loan at Cesena last season and made a total of 11 appearances scoring two goals.
