After securing the signatures of three national team players: Aidil Zafuan, Zaquan Adha and Azmi Muslim; Johor have secured another transfer coup by signing former Spanish international star striker, Dani Guiza, from Getafe.
Guiza was part of the Spain Euro 2008 winning squad and has won the "Pichichi" or La Liga's top scorer award in 2008 with 27 goals from 37 games. He achieved the remarkable feat without taking a single penalty kick with Real Mallorca.
The Spaniard is expected to arrive in Johor this Thursday to finalise the terms and agreement of his contract. His signing represents an amazing achevement not only for Johor but also Malaysian football.
The last marquee signing of a former international footballer was arguably the signing of Tony Cottee by Selangor in 1996.
Johor is also rumored to be on the verge of completing the transfers of national skipper Safiq Rahim and FAM Most Valuable Player 2012 winner, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha.
