QPR continued their preparations for the new season with a comfortable 5-0 win over a Sabah Select XI, thanks to a Djibril Cisse double and goals from Bobby Zamora, Heidar Helguson and Jay Bothroyd.
New signing Park Ji-Sung skippered the side in the first half, partnering Samba Diakite in the heart of the Hoops’ midfield.
The opening goal of the match came in the eighth minute, when Anton Ferdinand’s header was parried into the path of former Fulham forward Zamora who found the back of the net from six yards out.
Mark Hughes’ side continued to create chances, with Shaun Wright-Phillips and summer signing Andy Johnson both squandering presentable opportunities to add to their lead.
The west London outfit used the half-time interval to change their entire starting eleven, with on-loan Manchester United defender Fabio amongst the new faces to come on.
Former Lazio man Cisse came close to doubling the visitors' advantage shortly after the restart but failed to hit the back of the net.
But he grabbed an assist just past the hour mark, when Helguson got on the end of the Frenchman’s cross before smartly slotting the ball into the back of the net.
Ex-Cardiff City man Bothroyd added a third soon after, overcoming an attempted challenge to fire home calmly.
The influential Cisse then added a fourth with a superb chipped effort to make it 4-0 before rounding the keeper to grab himself another and put the finishing touches on an impressive team display.
