The Brazilian shot-stopper, who has yet to play a game for his new club, will make his first appearance next Saturday when the Merseyside club take on Aston Villa at Anfield.

“Next year, I do not know where I will play,” the 32-year-old told Radio Sport Mana Mana, “Being on the bench is not great.

“Liverpool have changed so much. There have been lots of ups and downs, but I'm learning the language and the experience is beautiful.

“I miss [former club] Roma a lot because it always rains here in Liverpool.”

Doni will feature be between the posts for at least three matches – including the FA Cup semi-final against Everton – after Pepe Reina was sent off on Sunday during the 2-0 defeat at Newcastle.
