thumbnail Hello,

The Ivorian striker, a Premier League- and Champions League-winning hero at Stamford Bridge, has made a sensational return but does he risk ruining his legacy?

POLL

After all of Chelsea's struggles in front of goal last season, Jose Mourinho has been looking to both the past and the future this summer.

Diego Costa has already arrived from Atletico Madrid for £35 million and on Friday the Blues revealed that 36-year-old club legend Didier Drogba has returned on a one-year deal.

The Ivorian became a hero over eight years at Stamford Bridge, departing in 2012 after playing a pivotal role in securing Champions League glory against Bayern Munich.

He has since played for Shanghai Shenhua and Galatasaray but Mourinho believes that he could still be useful even at the age of 36.

"We want to win matches and win titles and Didier is one of the best strikers in Europe," said the Chelsea boss. "He is still very adapted to the needs of the Premier League and we are thinking about it in a non-emotional way."
