Aston Villa 'want me out of the door' - Given

The 37-year-old has finished a successful loan spell with Middlesbrough but is keen for another move away after growing frustrated at being left on the bench at Villa Park
Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given claims that the club want him "out of the door" and says that he is keen to leave Paul Lambert's side.

The former Newcastle man has recently enjoyed a successful loan spell at Middlesbrough but is now set to return to Villa Park, much to his frustration, having lost his place in the side to Brad Guzan.

"It looks like I will be going back and I won't be playing much football," Given told the Birmingham Mail.

"That's the situation I am in. Hopefully something will happen in the summer somewhere."

However, Given remains hopeful that he can secure another loan deal during this season and is happy to drop down a division again in order to secure playing time.

"It has been really frustrating not playing," he added. "That's obvious for everyone to see and the window [to move elswhere in the Premier League] doesn't open until the summer, so maybe there is a Championship club out there who might want me.

"I might go back out on loan again somewhere before the end of March. Aston Villa want me out of the door, so something might happen."
