Poll of the Day: Can Manchester City beat Barcelona without Aguero?

Manuel Pellegrini ruled the Argentine out of the club's Champions League first-leg clash with the Catalans on Monday but do you think the Premier League side can win without him?

Manuel Pellegrini revealed on Monday that Sergio Aguero would miss the club's massive Champions League first-leg clash with Barcelona because of injury, making their task just that little bit harder.

There was an outside chance of the Argentine being declared fit for the fixture after he sustained a calf injury at Tottenham but Pellegrini will retain faith in Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo on Tuesday night.

City have been in stunning form at the Etihad Stadium this season, winning 18 of their 20 matches in front of their home supporters. It is also well noted that the club have already scored well over 100 goals in all competitions, with 26 of those coming from Aguero's 25 matches.

The 25-year-old has rediscovered the form that saw him fire City to the 2011-12 Premier League title but he has suffered a number of muscle strains keeping him out of important fixtures such as the Barcelona clash. The question is; can Man City defeat Barcelona without him?

So what do you think? Can Pellegrini mastermind victory over Barcelona without his star striker? Are Dzeko, Jovetic and Negredo enough to do the damage to Tata Martino's side?
