Mourinho comments 'boring in the extreme', says Arsenal legend Wilson

The Chelsea manager described Arsene Wenger as a "specialist in failure" on Friday afternoon, prompting a furious response from the former Gunners goalkeeper
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson has labelled Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho a bully whose "disrespectful" comments about Arsene Wenger are "boring in the extreme."

Responding to Wenger's suggestion that he is afraid of falling short in the race for the Premier League and was therefore playing down Chelsea's title chances, Mourinho described the Frenchman as a "specialist in failure."

Mourinho's comments have brought a huge reaction from a number of pundits, with Wilson condemning the former Real Madrid coach's "despicable" declaration.

"I think at it's best it's disrespectful, at it's worst despicable," Wilson told BBC Radio 5 live. "I find him boring in the extreme.

"I think it's personal. He is a hugely talented, amazing manager but a self-publicist and it's mainly inaccurate.

"To say West Ham play 19th-Century football, to give [Manchester City manager] Manuel Pellegrini the abuse he has... this is a weekend when we honour a gent - Tom Finney [who died on Friday] - I don't like bullies."

Arsenal currently trail Chelsea by a single point in the Premier League title race, with the sides set to clash at Stamford Bridge on March 22.
