The Crystal Palace manager has yet to bolster his ranks in January but is keen to add more experience to his squad before deadline day in a bid to remain in the Premier League

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis has revealed that he intends to bring up to five new players to Selhurst Park before Friday's transfer window deadline.

Pulis, who has guided the Eagles out of the relegation zone since taking over in November, is looking to strengthen his squad for the remaining 16 matches of the season.

The Welsh boss dismissed links with Danish pair Andreas Bjelland and Simon Makienok, though, and says he wants players with Premier League experience to aid their push for survival.

"I think we need to bring in four or five players, and I'm not talking about spending money on one of them that is extortionate, I'm talking about trying to bring players in who have a little bit of experience in the Premier League but also have something to prove,” Pulis told reporters.

“We're trying to get players in and make the squad stronger for the last 16 games of the season. We've been working very, very hard to identify players and I'm sure it will be busy come the end of the week.

"We don't want to bring in people here who are going to stroll around. We want people coming in here who will roll their sleeves up.

"I've come to the football club and I like to pick my own players. If I have to pick players on a certain budget, I will do so. Hopefully, by the end of the week, we'll bring some players in."

Palace are one of several sides in talks to sign Blackpool winger Tom Ince on loan after the Championship outfit allowed him to open discussions over a temporary switch.
