thumbnail Hello,

The Russian is one of the biggest earners at the Madejski Stadium and could be offloaded in the summer, however the Russian says he is not sure where his future lies

Reading striker Pavel Pogrebnyak has hinted he could stay with the club despite their relegation from the Premier League.

The 29-year-old arrived at the Madejski Stadium last summer on a free transfer, rejecting the chance to join Fulham where he enjoyed a successful loan spell.

However, Pogrebnyak will be playing Championship football next season, should he remain at Reading, and the Russian has revealed he is uncertain where his future lies.

“So far I don’t know anything about my future,” Pogrebnyak told reporters.

“It’d be great to stay in England. I’ve a four-year long contract with Reading so how could I say I don’t want to play here?

“If it happens like this then I’ll play in the Championship. We’ll talk about my future with [owner] Anton Zingarevich in the near future.”

The Russia international, who has been capped 33 times for his country, has managed just five league goals for the Royals, and eight in all competitions, this season.
