As exclusively revealed by Goal.com, the Everton boss is set to imminently be announced as the man to replace Sir Alex in the Old Trafford hotseat following the 71-year-old's decision to step down at the end of the season after 26 years at the helm.
Moyes began his managerial career at Preston North End before making the switch to Goodison Park where he replaced Walter Smith after his sacking back in 2002.
Despite not having picked up any silverware during 11 years on Merseyside, Moyes has earned a reputation as one of British football's most respected managers having consistently ensured the Toffees finish in and around the European spots on a much-reduced budgets compared his their positional rivals.
Moyes guided Everton to a fourth-placed finish back in 2004-05 and a place in the FA Cup final in 2009, while he has been awarded the LMA Manager of the Year award on three occasions.
