Redknapp denies QPR interest in Hangeland

With the Norwegian’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, rumours have started to mount that the Cottagers captain could be set for a move to Loftus Road
QPR manager Harry Redknapp has denied rumours he is attempting to lure Fulham captain Brede Hangeland to Loftus Road.

The Norwegian is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with a January move to the Rs as they look to stave off the threat of relegation from the Premier League.

However, revealed earlier this month that the 31-year-old is set to sign a new contract with the Cottagers, and despite Redknapp talking favourably of the centre-back, he insists he has made no approach.

"I'm sure Martin Jol will be really pleased to hear that this morning," Redknapp sarcastically told reporters.

"It's the first I've heard of it. He's a good player but if I was interested I'd ring Martin or the chairman at Fulham.

"But I've made no approach for him. He's a top player at Fulham so I wouldn't think he'd be available to sign."
