The Canaries striker has not trained this week after injuring his hamstring against Wigan, but may be back sooner than expected if his team mate's prediction is anything to go by
The 31-year-old striker is top scorer for the Canaries with four goals this term, but looks set to miss out their next game against the Baggies after missing training this week as they look to cement eighth place in the Premier League.
And while the frontman's absence would be a blow for Chris Hughton's men, central-defender Bassong suggests his team mate could be back in the squad before too long.
"Yes we are going to miss [Holt]," he told the Norfolk Eastern Daily Press. "I don't know how long he is going to be out for - he may be back quicker than some people think. Hopefully he will be back quickly and that will be a good thing for us."

High-flying Norwich could go fifth if results go their way this weekend, and Bassong admits while Steve Clarke's side will provide a tough challenge, his team have the confidence to take a victory from the Hawthorns.
"We are in a great run at the moment," he added. "We are really delighted about it, especially after the poor start we had. Now we are good.
"It is going to be a tough game at West Bromwich. We know what to expect going there and they are really lively up front, so we have to go there and give our maximum to get a result."
And Bassong thinks a positive result against the Baggies will stand his side in good stead for a tricky trip to Stamford Bridge just days later.
He concluded: "Boxing Day against Chelsea is going to be really important for us and it makes this game against West Bromwich even more important because we don’t know what’s going to happen in the next two games.
"If we get a chance to grab a point or something [at the Hawthorns] we will be delighted," he added.
