The 22-year-old right-back believes it is imperative that the club keep hold of the Uruguayan for the forseeable future after the striker notched 10 goals in 13 league games
The right-back, speaking during a question-and-answer session with supporters on the club's official Thai-language Twitter account, hailed the Uruguayan’s "unbelievable" form so far this season after notching 10 goals in 13 Premier League appearances.
And, after being linked with big money moves away to the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea recently, Kelly believes it is imperative that the club manage to secure his long-term future at Anfield.
"Luis is a top, top player and he loves it at Liverpool," Kelly tweeted.
"He’s been unbelievable for us this season and I think he’ll be here for a long, long time."
The England international was sidelined with a serious knee injury back in September and, despite the increased competition for places in the squad with the emergence of Andre Wisdom alongside Glen Johnson, Kelly feels he still has a role to play in the side.
He added: "Things are going well. I’m doing some work in the gym and in December, I will see the specialist.
"Hopefully he will give me the OK to start training again.
"I think good competition is healthy. There was strong competition when I broke into the team and that’s good because it motivates you to be a better player."
