"I have played there three or four times this season. If there are injuries or whatever, part of playing for this club is to do what the manager wants.

Carrick was deployed in defence during Manchester United's 1-0 Champions League defeat to Galatasaray on Wednesday. However, with Nemanja Vidic set to return from injury in the New Year, with Jonny Evans also on the mend, he may not need to play many more games out of position.
