Shelvey in foul-mouthed tirade at Sir Alex Ferguson after sending off

The 20-year-old midfielder was dismissed for a lunging challenge on Jonny Evans in the first-half, leaving the Reds with ten men in their clash with the Red Devils at Anfield
Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has been sent off for a tackle on Jonny Evans in the first-half of the Reds' Premier League clash against Manchester United.

The 20-year-old lunged into a challenge with Evans in which the Northern Irishman came off worse, leading referee Mark Halsey to dismiss the Liverpool player.

Shelvey also exchanged some choice words with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and defender Rio Ferdinand as he was ushered down the tunnel and into the dressing room.

The former Charlton player earned his place in the starting line-up by scoring twice in the Reds' Europa League clash against Young Boys on Thursday but now faces a three-match suspension.
