The 25-year-old has been given the green light to play in Spurs' next match away to Reading after the red card awarded by referee Mark Halsey on Saturday was overturned

The Football Association has rescinded Tom Huddlestone's three-match suspension following an appeal against the Tottenham midfielder's red card against Norwich City.

The 25-year-old was sent off in the closing stages of Spurs’ 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane after Mark Halsey deemed his tackle on Canaries substitute Steve Morison worthy of a dismissal.

However, after the north London club appealed the decision, the FA decided to overturn the suspension - leaving him free to play in their next match away to Reading.

The ex-Derby County man struggled with fitness last season, making just three appearances for the club in all competitions, with two of those coming in the league.

Huddlestone was heavily linked with a move to Stoke City in the closing days of the transfer window as well as reportedly being used as a makeweight in the club’s moves for ex-Fulham duo Moussa Dembele and Clint Dempsey.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas is still searching for his first win of the season after an opening-day 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United was followed by back-to-back 1-1 draws against West Brom and Norwich.
