Fiorentina coach Montella expects Cuadrado stay amid Manchester United interest

Louis van Gaal's side have already opened talks over a move but the Serie A club's head coach insists he has never considered losing the Colombia international
Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella is expecting Juan Cuadrado to stay with the Serie A club this summer, despite interest from Manchester United and Barcelona.

Goal understands that United have already held talks with Fiorentina over a deal worth up to £35 million for the Colombia international this summer, and are confident of beating Barcelona to the player’s signature.

Fiorentina’s Serie A campaign gets underway on August 30 and Montella insists the winger remains an integral part of his plans for the new season.

“I have never thought of losing Juan,” Montella told La Nazione.

“He’s been here in the past, he is here now and he will be here in the future.

“I don’t think about how his story might finish. A player like him can play in every position in midfield.”

Cuadrado scored 11 goals and registered five assists in 32 Serie A appearances last season and was one of Colombia's brightest performers at the World Cup earlier this summer.
