Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke says that Torino striker Ciro Immobile "absolutely wants to join" the Bundesliga club.
The 24-year-old has bagged 21 goals in Serie A this season and has long been linked with a move to Signal Iduna Park this summer, with Robert Lewandowski joining Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
Torino president Urbano Cairo insisted he is determined to keep the player - who is co-owned by Serie A champions Juventus - but Watzke has now claimed Immobile has his heart set on a move to Jurgen Klopp's side.
He told Bild: "I can confirm that the player Immobile absolutely wants to join us. There is nothing else to add. If there was something to announce, we would do it.
"It is a known fact that we have been in Italy to exchange thoughts with Juve and collected information."
Immobile's agent Giacomo Petralito also confirmed he has held talks with Dortmund officials, adding to Bild: "I can confirm that I met with [Dortmund sporting director] Michael Zorc and Hans-Joachim Watzke."
